How WondelleTales processes information when you use the website, create a personalized storybook, place an order, or contact us.
01 — Information we collect
We collect information that you voluntarily provide when creating or purchasing a personalized storybook.
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Your email address
- The child's first name
- The child's age
- Selected themes, lessons, or story preferences
- Character details and appearance descriptions
- Custom prompt or story instructions
- Language selection
- Package and purchase information
- Order status and delivery information
- Information you voluntarily provide when contacting customer support
The character-creation process is designed to require only the minimum information necessary to create the requested storybook.
Please do not provide unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
In particular, you should not provide:
- A child's full legal name when a first name is sufficient
- Home addresses
- Telephone numbers
- Government identification numbers
- Passwords
- Financial information
- Medical or health information
- School records
- Precise location information
- Private family information
- Any other sensitive information that is not necessary for creating the storybook
WondelleTales does not currently require or support the upload of photographs or audio recordings during the character-creation process.
A first name may constitute personal data where it relates to an identified or identifiable person. Information that may appear harmless on its own can become personal data when combined with other information.
For this reason, we recommend providing only a first name and the minimum information necessary to create the storybook.
02 — How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create your personalized storybook
- Generate stories, illustrations, narration, and related content
- Deliver your completed storybook to the email address you provide
- Verify your email address where email verification is used
- Process and manage your order
- Provide customer support
- Investigate technical problems
- Prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the service
- Maintain and secure the WondelleTales website
- Comply with applicable legal, accounting, tax, and regulatory obligations
- Enforce our Terms and Conditions
We do not require you to provide more information than is reasonably necessary to create and deliver the requested product.
03 — Legal bases for processing
Depending on the particular processing activity and applicable law, we may process information because it is necessary to:
- Provide the product or service you requested
- Perform our agreement with you
- Comply with legal obligations
- Protect the security and integrity of the service
- Pursue legitimate interests, where those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms
- Obtain your consent where consent is required by applicable law
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent where permitted by applicable law. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the withdrawal.
04 — Personalized storybook generation and AI providers
To create your personalized storybook, WondelleTales uses third-party technology providers, including artificial-intelligence providers for tasks such as text, image, narration, or other content generation.
Information necessary to generate your requested content may be transmitted to these providers.
Depending on the provider, service, account configuration, model, and applicable provider policies, information submitted to an AI system may be temporarily or permanently retained by that provider.
No Zero Data Retention guarantee
WondelleTales does not represent or guarantee that the third-party AI providers used by the service operate under a Zero Data Retention ("ZDR") policy for the information submitted through WondelleTales.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular service, you should assume that information submitted for AI generation may be retained by the relevant third-party provider for some period of time in accordance with that provider's applicable terms, privacy policy, security practices, and service configuration.
This means that WondelleTales cannot guarantee that information submitted to an AI provider will be immediately deleted after generation or that it will never be retained by that provider.
For this reason, you should only submit the minimum information necessary to create the storybook and should not submit sensitive or unnecessary personal information.
In particular, we strongly recommend using only a child's first name rather than a full legal name.
You acknowledge this aspect of the service when using the personalized generation features.
05 — Information relating to children
WondelleTales storybooks may be created by parents, guardians, or other authorized adults for children.
We do not knowingly ask children to independently purchase products or submit information directly to us.
Information about a child may nevertheless be provided by the adult purchasing or creating the storybook.
Because information about a child can constitute personal data, we encourage parents and guardians to provide only the minimum information necessary for the storybook.
Please do not provide sensitive information about a child.
The character-creation process does not require photographs, audio recordings, medical information, addresses, school information, or similar sensitive information.
If you voluntarily provide information beyond what is requested, that information may be processed in connection with generating the storybook, including transmission to third-party AI providers as described in this Privacy Policy.
06 — Information you voluntarily provide
You are responsible for ensuring that information you voluntarily submit through WondelleTales is appropriate for the service and that you have the necessary authority to provide information relating to another person.
You should not submit information about another individual unless you have an appropriate legal basis or authorization to do so.
If you voluntarily provide additional personal information beyond what the service requests, WondelleTales will process that information only as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to applicable law.
WondelleTales strongly recommends that you do not enter personal information that is unnecessary for creating the storybook.
This is particularly important because information submitted for content generation may be transmitted to third-party AI providers that may not provide Zero Data Retention for every service or configuration.
07 — Third-party services
We use third-party providers to operate and deliver WondelleTales.
These may include:
- Artificial-intelligence providers for text generation
- Artificial-intelligence providers for image generation
- Narration or text-to-speech providers
- Email delivery providers
- Cloud hosting and storage providers
- Authentication or verification services
- Analytics and security providers
- Payment and merchant-of-record providers
Each provider may process information according to its own terms, privacy policy, retention practices, and security arrangements.
We provide third-party providers with information that is reasonably necessary for them to perform their respective functions.
Where applicable, third-party providers may process information outside the European Economic Area.
08 — International data transfers
Some of our third-party service providers may be located outside the European Economic Area or may process information outside the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, applicable data-protection law may require an appropriate legal transfer mechanism or safeguard, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally recognized mechanism.
The specific location and safeguards applicable to a particular provider may depend on the service, provider, account configuration, and infrastructure being used at the time.
Because third-party providers may operate internationally, you should not assume that information submitted to WondelleTales will remain exclusively within the European Economic Area.
09 — Payment processing
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record for purchases made through WondelleTales.
Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing and may handle billing, receipts, applicable sales taxes or VAT, refunds, and chargebacks in accordance with its own policies and legal obligations.
WondelleTales does not store your full payment-card information on its own servers.
Payment-related information may be processed directly by Lemon Squeezy and its payment partners.
10 — Email delivery
We use third-party email services to send:
- Email verification messages
- Order confirmations
- Delivery notifications
- Storybook download or access links
- Support communications
- Other necessary transactional emails
Your email address and information necessary to send these communications may therefore be processed by our email-delivery provider.
11 — Cloud storage and generated files
Completed storybooks and related generated files may be stored using third-party cloud infrastructure so that we can:
- Generate the product
- Deliver the product
- Provide access to previously generated products where applicable
- Troubleshoot technical problems
- Provide customer support
Generated files may therefore remain stored for a period of time after delivery.
We aim to retain generated files and associated information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to legal, accounting, technical, and legitimate business requirements.
12 — Data retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.
For example:
Order and transaction information may be retained as necessary for accounting, tax, legal, fraud-prevention, and dispute-resolution purposes.
Email information may be retained while necessary to deliver your product, provide support, maintain your order history, or comply with legal obligations.
Storybook and generation information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to generate, deliver, maintain access to, troubleshoot, or support your purchased product.
Information processed by third-party AI providers may be subject to the retention periods and policies of those providers. WondelleTales does not control the retention periods independently applied by third-party AI providers once information has been transmitted to them, subject to any contractual and legal controls applicable to those providers.
Where information is no longer reasonably necessary and no legal obligation requires continued retention, we may delete or anonymize it.
13 — Deletion requests
You may contact us to request deletion of personal information associated with your use of WondelleTales.
Where legally required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize information that we no longer need.
However, deletion may be limited where information must be retained to:
- Comply with legal or accounting obligations
- Establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
- Prevent fraud or abuse
- Complete a transaction
- Resolve a dispute
- Satisfy another lawful retention requirement
Please note that information already transmitted to an independent third-party provider may be subject to that provider's own retention policies and deletion procedures.
Where technically and legally appropriate, we may request deletion from relevant providers, but we cannot guarantee immediate deletion from every independent third-party system.
14 — Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights including:
- The right to know how your personal information is processed
- The right to access your personal information
- The right to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- The right to request deletion
- The right to restrict certain processing
- The right to object to certain processing
- The right to data portability

However, no internet transmission, cloud service, email system, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Accordingly, you should avoid submitting information that is unnecessary or particularly sensitive.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to:
- The WondelleTales service
- Third-party providers
- Applicable laws
- Data-processing practices
- Security measures
- Business operations
The updated version will be published on this page together with a revised "Last updated" date.
